UK Managing Director
Ian founded Abtech Safety in 1991 and has been at the forefront of designing and manufacturing safety solutions for over three decades. He is a Chairman of the Work at Height Safety Association and a BSI Committee Member involved in writing European and British safety standards.
His expertise in engineering, business leadership, and safety innovation has helped Abtech grow into a trusted name in height safety and rescue. Ian’s greatest motivation comes from working with a fantastic team and driving continuous improvement across the business.
UK Group Manager
Sally joined Abtech Safety in 2007 and has been central to the company’s growth. Her role has spanned operations, product development and team leadership, giving her a broad perspective on the business.
Armed with a NEBOSH qualification, Sally oversees health, safety and business operations. She takes particular pride in shaping a positive workplace culture.
Outside of work, Sally and her husband share a passion for property renovation. They’ve successfully flipped five homes — often whilst living in a caravan through winter renovations.
Sales Director
Danny’s journey with Abtech started as work experience. His work ethic and customer focus stood out from day one, and in 2003 he joined the team full time.
Today he leads sales with the same energy — always close to customers, quick on calls and email, and a familiar face at industry trade shows. Danny’s goal is simple: make it easy for clients to get the right solution, fast.
Technical Account Manager
Andy has built a career spanning military service, emergency response, private security, and technical training. With such a varied background, he thrives on tackling new challenges and solving problems for customers.
As a Technical Account Manager, Andy works closely with clients to understand their safety needs and recommend the best solutions for working at height and in confined spaces.
Quality Manager
Will joined Abtech Safety with over eight years of experience in quality systems and engineering. Starting as an apprentice in the defence sector, he progressed through quality inspection and systems auditing while completing qualifications in mechanical engineering.
His focus is on driving continuous improvement, ensuring that our products and processes meet the highest safety standards.
Office Administrator
Finley’s journey at Abtech Safety started in the warehouse, where he spent a year gaining hands-on experience with the company’s products. This knowledge gave him a strong foundation for his current role in sales administration, where he ensures customers receive the best solutions for their safety needs.
Outside of work, he’s passionate about rugby and has achieved the incredible milestone of earning his first cap for the Wales Rugby League Men’s team.
Office Administrator
Sophie has been with Abtech Safety for over a decade, bringing experience from across the business, from warehousing and servicing to sales and purchasing. Her in-depth product knowledge and keen attention to detail make her a go-to person for smooth office operations.
Known for her exceptional memory and persistence, Sophie keeps things on track behind the scenes and takes pride in helping both the team and customers succeed.
Marketing Manager
With a background in media advertising and content marketing, Paul brings his wide-ranging experience in communication and brand development. He thrives on the challenge of working in a fast-paced, technical industry and enjoys finding clear, engaging ways to showcase our focus on compliance, safety and expertise.
Paul enjoys working closely with Abtech Safety’s customer base, assisting with campaigns and helping highlight the benefits of our safety solutions.
Graphic Designer
Killian brings over 11 years of experience in graphic design, supported by a Master’s in Digital Marketing from Liverpool John Moores University. His expertise spans branding, visual communication, and user experience, and he has delivered more than 500 design projects for international corporations.
Since joining the team, Killian has focused on making safety and rescue messages clearer, more engaging, and easier to connect with — using design to support communication that truly makes a difference.
Finance Officer
Nel brings nearly two decades of experience in finance, accounting, and business management across the public and manufacturing sectors. With a Master’s in Business Administration, part-qualification in CIMA, and fellowship in the International Association of Bookkeepers, she plays a key role in financial planning, reporting, and system implementation at Abtech Safety.
She’s supported smooth transitions between accounting platforms and ensures financial returns are completed on time, helping the business operate efficiently and compliantly.
Accounts Administrator
Brandon joined Abtech Safety after graduating from Liverpool John Moores University, stepping into his first professional role in finance and administration. He thrives on problem-solving, whether it’s resolving customer account queries, managing payments, or ensuring smooth financial operations.
For Brandon, the most rewarding part of his job is finding solutions that improve efficiency and build strong relationships with clients.
SRL Production
Sean returned to Abtech in 2022, bringing practical know-how and a strong connection to the business. As our lead on Self-Retracting Lifeline (SRL) production, he’s known for his efficiency and attention to detail.
With additional training as a service engineer, Sean also draws on his experience maintaining SRLs for other companies — making him a valuable asset across both manufacturing and maintenance.
Service Engineer
Joe joined Abtech Safety in 2021, beginning his journey in the warehouse, where he built a strong understanding of our entire product range. Now leading our service department, he ensures every item is inspected, serviced, and certified to the highest standard.
Joe is fully qualified to service both the TORQ and Tuff Built product lines, combining technical expertise with a keen eye for customer satisfaction.
Warehouse Operative
Matt joined the team in 2024 and has quickly become central to our logistics and warehouse operations. He oversees both goods in and goods out, making sure products move efficiently through the system and orders are dispatched accurately and on time.
With a focus on organisation and proactive problem-solving, Matt plays a key role in keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes.
Stretcher Production
Adam joined Abtech during the transition of stretcher production from our Darwen facility. With a military background, he brings discipline, structure, and a commitment to quality at every stage of the build process.
His approach ensures each SLIX and rescue stretcher is produced with the consistency and durability our customers rely on in critical environments.
